It has become known how cheese affects the health of the heart and blood vessels

It turned out that some types of cheese, even in small portions, can be comparable in harmfulness to a pack of chips.

British scientists have conducted a comprehensive study of the effects of cheese on the functioning of the cardiovascular system. During the study, experts came to mixed conclusions regarding the impact of this dairy product on human health. On the one hand, they noted that cheese is a rich source of a number of useful substances, including protein and calcium, which are vital for the normal functioning of the body.

At the same time, scientists drew attention to the significant content of salt and saturated fats in cheeses. According to their calculations, just 30 grams of cheddar cheese can contain even more saturated fats than a whole pack of chips. Experts believe that high levels of such fats can negatively affect the cardiovascular system, increasing the concentration of "bad" cholesterol in the blood and increasing the risk of developing various pathologies.

However, British researchers also pointed out the presence of the so-called "matrix effect" in cheese, which, in their opinion, to a certain extent protects the body from the adverse effects of saturated fats. The nature of this phenomenon, as scientists note, is largely related to the production features of this dairy product.

Interesting data was also obtained during other scientific experiments. Thus, Canadian specialists found that fat from cream cheese is digested and absorbed by the body faster than fat from cheddar. In turn, Irish researchers found that eating cheese leads to a less pronounced increase in cholesterol levels compared to the separate consumption of its main components - butter, protein and calcium.

Thus, despite lengthy scientific discussions, to date, scientists have not come to a consensus regarding the effect of cheese on the health of the heart and blood vessels. Some experts see this dairy product as a serious threat to the cardiovascular system, while others point to its protective properties. Final conclusions on this issue can only be made based on the results of further comprehensive studies.
