It is worth remembering that only fresh, unprocessed garlic retains the entire complex of useful substances. If you add it to hot soups, roasts or other thermally processed foods, then most of the useful compounds will be destroyed. As a result, only an unpleasant smell will remain from garlic, and the benefit to the body will be minimal.

Secondly, to extract maximum benefit, garlic must be chopped. Only finely chopped or rubbed cloves allow the release of a special compound - allicin. It is this component that has powerful antibacterial and antiviral properties, beneficially affecting the state of the body. Eating whole cloves of garlic does not give a noticeable health effect.

It should also be noted that this vegetable is strictly prohibited for consumption by certain categories of citizens. It is not recommended for people with gastrointestinal diseases, liver, kidneys, as well as hemorrhoids and epilepsy. In addition, women should refrain from eating garlic during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

In other cases, garlic can be a useful addition to a healthy diet. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and sulfur-containing compounds that have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular, immune and other systems of the body. For example, zinc, magnesium and selenium contained in garlic are important for visual acuity and the prevention of age-related changes in the eyes.

However, despite its many beneficial properties, the effect of garlic largely depends on the method of its preparation and use. Properly chopped and added to dishes in the right amount, it will be an excellent assistant in maintaining good health. Otherwise, you can only count on an unpleasant smell, but not on the expected benefit.

Therefore, it is worth taking a more thoughtful approach to using this aromatic vegetable, following simple rules. Only then will you be able to fully enjoy all its beneficial properties and improve the condition of your body.
