We continue to cook healthy and low-calorie dishes from spelled - the oldest relative of wheat.
Spelled groats have a certain resemblance to barley and a similar property to increase 4-5 times during the cooking process. From a small amount, you can cook a whole pan of delicious and satisfying porridge. In combination with fried mushrooms, you get a full-fledged second course rich in aromas. 1. Spelled groats should be washed well in cold water and “soaked” in it for at least 1 hour. This will help our porridge cook faster.
2. Fill the swollen spelt with clean water. Bring to a boil. Switch to slow fire. Cook on low heat for 1.5 hours. I want to note that chopped cereals are cooked much faster. At the end of cooking, porridge should be well salted. We throw the porridge into a colander. Let the liquid drain. From mucus, I recommend a quick rinse.
3. In a frying pan in butter, fry the champignons with onions. I cut the mushrooms into thin slices, and the onions into small cubes.
4. Fry the mushrooms with onions for 5 minutes over high heat. Salt and pepper to taste.
5. Add the washed spelt, a piece of butter to the mushroom fry.
6. Mix. Pour porridge with boiling water. Salt to taste.
7. Cover the pan with a lid. Let the liquid evaporate with slow heating, and spelled with mushrooms - exchange flavors.
