Octopus salad

This octopus salad is very popular in Crete. Prepares easily and quickly. Yes, and the most difficult will be to boil the octopus. This is why many people do not cook octopus dishes, fearing that they will not be able to cook it correctly. I will share the secret of how to cook octopus easily and tasty and enjoy its taste to the fullest.

We will prepare all the products according to the list. Octopus can be used fresh or frozen. A mixture of lettuce leaves I always take "Italian".

Octopus - 500 g

Salad mix - 250 g

Olives - 20 g

Capers - 20 g

Balsamic vinegar - 1 tbsp.

Olive oil - 1 tbsp

A mixture of peppers - 5 g

Lemon - 0.5 pcs.

Oregano - 5 g

Cherry tomatoes - 5 pcs.

1. So, put the octopus in a saucepan and add 100 ml of water. Put the pot on the fire and let the water boil. We cook the octopus for 20-25 minutes, periodically tasting the octopus meat with a knife for readiness. Ready meat is easily pierced with a knife. Once the knife has entered the meat of the octopus well, remove the pan from the heat. Place the octopus in a colander so that the liquid is completely drained from it. If you had an unpeeled octopus, then simply clean the remains of the red film under cold water. Pat the octopus dry with paper towels.

2. Cut the octopus tentacles into small portions.

3. Put a mixture of lettuce leaves on a flat dish.

4. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and put the tomatoes on a dish.

5. Put the pieces of octopus in the same place. Add the olives, capers and drizzle the salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon and also pour over the salad with it. Sprinkle with dried oregano and salt to taste.

6. A ready-made octopus salad may well become a full-fledged main course for losing weight and eating right. Or maybe just to please you as a very nutritious and tasty salad.
