I present to you another dish of Greek cuisine - fava or Greek pea puree. Friends, this is a very tasty dish, it is often served in Greek taverns as a meze appetizer, a compliment-treat from the owner of the establishment.

And from the first try, you can't believe that pea puree can be so tasty.. But it can!

Fava - Greek Pea Puree

Peas - 1 cup

Water - 2.5 - 3 cups

Capers - 1 tsp

Onion - 1 pc.

Olive oil - 2 tbsp

Salt - to taste

1. We sort out the peas, wash them in several waters. Then pour into a saucepan and fill with water, add 1 tsp. salt.

2. Cook pea puree over medium heat until the peas are fully cooked and all the water has boiled away. This will take 20-30 minutes, depending on the variety of peas.

3. With a blender, we break through the resulting pea porridge in mashed potatoes.

4. Cut the onion into thin half rings.

5. Put the onion slices on a plate with pea puree.

6. Add olive oil.

7. Spread the capers (by the way, capers are most often placed on the fava on the island of Santorini).
