Hot chocolate with cinnamon according to this recipe will seem very, very strange to most of us: "How is it possible, chocolate - without milk?" But imagine, this is not an invention of modern cooking and not some kind of experiment. Hot chocolate, which was drunk in Europe in the 18th-19th centuries, really did not contain milk. It was prepared strictly with water. True, it was also not sweet. And initially - so strongly seasoned that a modern person's eyes would simply pop out of their sockets. I will not go into all these extremes, I will take only the dairy-free base from the old recipe, and I will correct it in a modern way, so that it is tasty for a person of the twenty-first century.

My hot chocolate with cinnamon is an old fairy tale in a new way, and not an original historical recipe. By the way, if we talk about modern culinary fashions, then this is vegan hot chocolate (well, if you make it from dark, not milk). Accordingly, it is also suitable for Lent. Even for those days when butter is not allowed.

Since I still prefer dark chocolate, I don't need sugar in this drink. Those who like it sweeter - take either milk chocolate or season the water with sugar to taste.

Chocolate - 50 g

Water - 200 ml

Sugar - to taste

Cinnamon - to taste

1. Grate the chocolate on a fine grater.

2. Mix the water with the chocolate and cinnamon.

3. Cook the chocolate over low heat while stirring for about 15 minutes from the moment the chocolate has completely dissolved.

4. You can drink hot chocolate with cinnamon either immediately after preparation or the next day. If it is infused, its taste will be richer, the cinnamon and chocolate will open up better during this time.
