The appetizer is prepared very quickly, so if guests drop by by chance, you can safely prepare an appetizer of herring and eggs, which will go well with strong drinks.
Herring and egg appetizer

Salted or lightly salted herring - 250 g
Boiled eggs - 3 pcs.
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Dill - 1 small bunch
Lemon - 1 pc.
Rye bread (optional)

1. Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from one half of the lemon.
2. If you serve the appetizer on slices of bread, as I did, then the other half of the lemon should be cut into thin half rings (this is optional), but if not, then the second half of the lemon is not needed.
3. Cut the herring into small cubes.
4. Finely chop the dill.
5. Peel the eggs and also finely chop.
6. In a bowl, mix the herring with the eggs, dill and mustard. Season with lemon juice, add salt if desired and mix well.
7. Serve this appetizer with fresh rye bread, croutons, lavash or unsweetened pancakes. I served the appetizer on slices of rye bread and garnished with sliced lemon.
