A decoction of dried rose hips

Rose hips (dried berries) - 70 g

1. Pour 70 g of dried rose hips into a ladle.
2. Pour in about a glass of water.
3. Put on the burner and bring to a boil.
And then our task is to boil the rose hips literally into mush. You can do this either with the lid on or without the lid. It will be faster under the lid, less water will boil away, you don’t need to turn on the hood and you can make the heat under the ladle much quieter. For me, it takes about 20 minutes for the rose hips to boil.
4. After about 15 minutes of cooking, try mashing the rose hips with a potato masher. If you see and feel that they are still hard, then cook for a few more minutes. You have already damaged the berries with the potato masher, and the process will now go faster.
5. When the rose hips are completely boiled, mash them properly.
6. Add sugar. I add 4-5 tablespoons of sugar per 1.5 liters of drink. And you act according to your tastes and beliefs.
7. Add water to the ladle to make 1.5 liters (you can use cold or hot), bring everything to a boil again.
8. Remove from heat, strain. Sometimes I leave the drink unstrained until it cools completely. But I don’t feel a difference in taste between without and with infusion. So, as you wish: you can strain it right away, or later.
9. And drink it hot or cold.
