Cajun pork chops with spices

This is an incredibly delicious recipe that is quick and easy to prepare. Most people keep these spices in their pantry!

Cajun cuisine is made from readily available ingredients. Cajuns are a sub-ethnic group living in the state of Louisiana. Their ancestors were French Canadians who emigrated from Canada to America in the 18th century.

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

½ teaspoon grated dried sage leaves

½ teaspoon garlic salt

1 ½ teaspoons extra virgin olive oil

4 pork chops in the middle

1. Combine paprika, cumin, black pepper, cayenne pepper, sage and garlic salt on a plate.

2. Brush each pork chop generously with spice mixture.

3. Heat olive oil and a few drops of oil flavored non-stick spray in a large skillet over high heat.

4. Place the pork chops in the skillet, reducing the heat to medium.

5. Cook until the pork is no longer pink in the center, 8 to 10 minutes.

6. An instant read thermometer inserted in the center should read 63 degrees Celsius.
